Summer is coming to an end but what an eventful summer it was. We up and moved to North Carolina from Maine. I was nervous for Ella most of all my kids. She had bonded so much with her friends and teachers at Blue Point. She would say throughout the summer that she wanted to stay at her "old school" but we continued to encourage her.
So we have survived the initial move and this momma was so nervous for her cubs..I so want them to fit in. Edward started soccer and made the varsity team for his high school and if his high school team is any indication in how this chapter of our lives us going to play out....we are golden. The team has been so accepting of Edward and the parents so kind. One of his team mates mom is the PE teacher at Ella's school and the coaches wife if the Speech Therapist at the school. Ella has taken to them both as well as sweet Caroline who is the coaches daughter who is in second grade also.
Evan started playing soccer and he has made a friendship with Tripp, who happens to be Edwards coaches son...small town!! :)
So day one ,Ella was excited. She was such a brave girl and went to school with her big smile. A little mishap at the end of day prevented a perfect day but we were optimistic for day two. Day two she took the bus and was super excited. She came home with a smile and said she had a great day. I found out from the speech therapist...she had a little crying episode but she got Sweet Caroline to console Ella and all was good.
Ella has this fear of abandonment that just breaks my heart. I want her just to be carefree and happy. I just have to keep reassuring her. If she only knew that we could never live without her now...we need her love of life, her silly laugh, her constant brushing of her hair, her need to give us a fashion show each hour, I need to hear her say " Guess what Mom.....I Love you. Our lives have been so blessed with this angel...I just wish she would realize she is STUCK with us!!
So all in all she has transition well...day 3 today.
